About Out to Play
How it started.
Green Space Learning partnered with Bethany Fort to create Out to Play in December 2021. Green Space has been training educators on the importance of play and building nature play spaces since 2015 but we wanted to make nature play available to more children in DFW.
Our mission: Bring mobile play spaces to children living in play deserts.

What we’re doing.
Out to Play brings pop-up play spaces to apartment complexes, shelters, and community organizations serving under-resourced families. Why play? Play is the number one way children learn. Play is ESSENTIAL, but not EQUITABLE. 40% of Fort Worth families do not live within a 10-minute walk to a free park or playground. We address these play deserts by bringing play to them on a weekly basis so they have a preschool learning experience filled with sensory & nature play.
What we need.
We need volunteers, donors, and play advocates. To expand our play sites to more locations, we need YOU! One way you can support our mission is become a monthly donor!
